10 Jul 2011 — Did you go to Callowland Fun Day?
If so, hopefully you were one of the people who stopped at our stall during the afternoon. This was a great opportunity for us to share some of our work with others, and filled some of the gaps we have in our knowledge. This year we displayed our research on some of the local schools, and had asked visitors for information about their school days if they had attended one of those we had researched.
We had feared that the showers during the morning would discourage people from coming, but it was a pleasure to see the event so well attended. A dry and sunny afternoon meant that numbers were good, and we weren't left by ourselves sheltering from a downpour! It was great to see many people taking time to show an interest in their local history.
If you weren't able to see us on the day, do remember that you can still see our display on the History of Shakespeare Industrial Estate at Watford Museum between now and the end of July.
