    The Co-op has long held a presence in North Watford. After the AGM business we will show the film "The Rochdale Pioneers". This film illustrates the foundation and early days of the Co-op in Rochdale.

    "My life as a museum curator"

    Sarah Priestly, from Watford Museum, will give a talk about her experiences at the museum. This talk is certain to give an insight into what happens behind the scenes to obtain and care for artifacts and the museum work.

    "Jack the Ripper - the Watford connection"

    The character of Jack the Ripper is associated with a series of murders and mutilations around the Whitechapel area of in 1888. Trevor Spinnage will give a talk sharing his research on the subject and how our local area was linked to the events in East London.

    Anybody looking at our area or the wider town will be familiar with building developement and demand for housing. It wasn't always so - Hertfordshire has a farming heritage. Is this only in the past or does it continue today? In his talk, John Hopkins will tell us more.
